Water Management in Germany and South Korea: A Comparison of Climate Change Adaptation Strategies

My presentation will be about my PhD dissertation which compared South Korean and German adaptation policies for and approaches to water management. While the two countries share similarities in social, economic and geographic conditions, their flood risk management policies are significantly different. Germany prioritised nature-based solutions, whereas South Korea preferred the construction of dams and dredging. My thesis examined the institutional and discursive background of their policy-making processes.
